Frequently Asked Questions
Are you fully licensed or can we bring our own drinks?
We are fully licensed and do not permit BYO. Our extensive beverage menu includes an array of wines, craft beers, and cocktails to suit every palate. Whether you crave a crisp white wine with seafood or a refreshing mocktail, our friendly team is available to suggest the perfect pairing for your meal. This ensures everyone can enjoy a hassle-free dining experience without the need to bring their own beverages.
Do you offer high chairs for children?
Yes. High chairs are available on request to help families dine comfortably. Simply let our staff know when you book or upon arrival, and we’ll make sure to have one ready for you. We aim to provide a welcoming atmosphere for guests of all ages, so you can relax and enjoy your time with us, knowing your little ones are safe and secure at the table.
Is the restaurant dog friendly?
We welcome well-behaved dogs in our outdoor seating area, where they can take in the fresh sea breeze alongside you. We kindly ask owners to ensure their pets remain on a leash and do not disturb other guests. Our staff is happy to offer water bowls for thirsty pups. This policy allows you to share a meal with your furry companion while still maintaining a comfortable dining environment for everyone.
Is there a cakeage fee for bringing my own cake?
A small cakeage fee applies for those who wish to bring their own cakes to celebrate special occasions. This contribution helps cover the staff time and resources needed to serve and clean up afterwards. You’re also welcome to browse our dessert menu, which includes a variety of sweet options. Whether you bring your own or choose from our menu, we’re here to make your celebration memorable.
Do you allow split bills?
We do not accommodate split bills, so we kindly ask that each table settles the total in one transaction. This policy helps streamline service and minimise wait times, especially during busy periods. If multiple people are paying, we recommend organising payment among your group before finalising the bill. Our team appreciates your cooperation, and we strive to make your dining experience as seamless as possible.
Can I walk in, or do I need a reservation?
Walk-ins are most welcome, and we do our best to accommodate everyone. However, reservations are highly recommended—especially on weekends and for larger groups—to avoid waiting during peak times. Booking in advance ensures you’ll have a table reserved, allowing you to relax and enjoy your meal without the risk of missing out on a busy day. Feel free to call or use our online system to reserve.
Is there a dress code?
We encourage a smart casual dress code to maintain a relaxed yet polished dining atmosphere. Beachgoers are still welcome, as long as they wear appropriate footwear and cover-ups. We believe in comfort and inclusivity, and our goal is for guests to feel at ease while maintaining a pleasant environment for everyone. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, feel free to dress up and make the experience even more memorable.
Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Our main dining area is designed to accommodate wheelchairs, and we also offer accessible restroom facilities. We recommend mentioning any specific requirements when you make your reservation or upon arrival, so our team can ensure everything is set up for a smooth experience. Creating an inclusive and welcoming environment is a top priority, and we strive to meet the needs of all our guests.
Are there vegetarian or gluten-free options available?
Absolutely. We pride ourselves on offering a diverse menu that caters to various dietary preferences and requirements. Vegetarian and gluten-free dishes are clearly marked, and our chefs can often customise certain items upon request. To ensure the best possible experience, let us know about any specific allergies or concerns when you book or before placing your order. We’ll do our utmost to accommodate your needs without compromising on flavour or presentation.
We came to La Perouse from the western suburbs to walk and have a dip in the bay. We decided to eat at the Boatshed and when we arrived we were greeted like long lost friends. Definitely planning to come back for a long lunch.
